Delivery to Batase Village in Nepal!
At last, we made it to Batase Village and were able to spend time distributing the many socks that were donated by St Andrew’s Catholic College.
As soon as we arrived we started the distribution and so it continued in to the night as more people arrived from the village and beyond. We were treated to songs and laughter and a friendly ‘Namaste’ from everyone we met.
As we had been given extra baggage allowance from Silk Air, we took the opportunity to help FHC further by carrying many donated clothing, shoes, blankets, beanies and underwear for the Hostel families.
As you can see from the pictures, we were able to help not only the hostel families, but your kindness and donations reached much further to the rest of the village, Batase School and also the outlying villages.
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed in any way towards this appeal, it has made such an impact in the lives of the people over in Batase, not only in the gifts that they received but more so in knowing that they have friends around the world who care a lot about them and want to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
The donations do not need to stop here! There is another consignment being organised around Christmas time by the friends of FHC, and all donations are gratefully received. We are continuing to take donations of socks, but also ask for items of ‘good quality’ clothing that will last the test of weather and conditions.
Thank you all again for everything. I am overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness.
